Un livre traduit a besoin d'une fiche pensée pour son nouveau marché
A translated manuscript can be excellent while its book remains hard to recognise.
Readers often meet metadata first: title, description, categories and search terms. These elements cannot be moved between markets as labels alone. A category may have different boundaries; a literal description may preserve every word and lose the promise.
The practical discipline is to keep two things together: a canonical French source and a documented local decision. Record the source wording, the adapted wording, the reason, the date and the validator. Then review structure and meaning separately. A valid code is not necessarily a faithful category, and elegant copy can still point to the wrong edition.
Localisation succeeds when the route feels natural to the reader without breaking the book’s editorial lineage.
