Note — Three different responsibilities

Éviter le flou entre trois usages qu'on confond trop souvent

“The system did it” is rarely a useful description of editorial work.

Assistance prepares: it retrieves a defined source, compares records, flags an absence, or drafts options. Its output is a proposal, not permission.

Decision commits: someone accepts a title, confirms a right, chooses a translation, or authorises the next state. The record should identify that person, the evidence, and the scope of the choice.

Creation shapes: material is directed, selected, transformed, and revised into a form for which an author or editor takes responsibility.

One workflow can contain all three. The important part is to keep the transitions visible. “Proposed,” “reviewed,” and “approved” are not interchangeable labels. They show where assistance ends, where authority begins, and where a creative gesture remains answerable to a person.
